Water impellar replacement

Postby Joseph P. on Mon Sep 10, 2012 10:32 pm

I replaced the water impeller on my Johnson 115 (really a Suzuki engine). It was fairly straight forward.
Remove the four bolts plus the one hidden above the prop. Remove the small rubber hose. Remove the lower unit completely.

Remove the four bolts holding the pump housing on. Remove the impeller. Don't lose the key.

Install new impeller making sure key is seated correctly. Reinstall pump housing, twist shaft so impeller blades bend in the correct direction (it was cw for me).

Bolt down the pump housing, Reinstall foot into the motor (it would be good if you can get someone to help with this part). Reattach small rubber hose.
