Any Tips?

Postby deuce82x on Mon Feb 27, 2017 10:21 pm

Hey guys/gals. I'm fairly inexperienced fishing for striper and have a camping trip planned for late March at Hamilton Branch. Any advice going into it? I'll gladly post any and all information I can as the trip goes on to help anyone else in the area. Also if anyone is interested we took a quick trip out yesterday to make sure the boat was running good and caught some good black and white crappie up the broad river.

You will be in a good area. Pull planer boards in creeks around islands and over humps and points. Keep the outside planer close to the bank in water 1'-2' deep out to 15-20' on the other side of the boat. Look at your chart/map and concentrate on creeks in your area, Catfish, Hamilton Branch, Dordon, Shriver are all good places to start. Try putting your bait 10-12 pulls (18-25' behind the board determined by the depth of the water) and don't be afraid to use some small weights on the deeper side. Come back to us when it gets closer to your trip. Good Luck.- WB
